Current Positions

Casual Night Shunt Driver

An immediate opportunity exists for a highly motivated and energetic Yard Shunt Truck Driver to join our transport team on a casal. The primary duties of this position is to ensure trailers are placed on and offloading docks; move trailers to and from trailer parking areas; couple/uncouple trailer combinations; as well as providing assistance across all areas of the business as and when required such as complete trailer pre-start checks, loading on docks, maintaining a safe clean transport yard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safely operating a shunt truck to efficiently move trailers to and from
  • Unloading tautliners
  • Movement of semi-trailers and other equipment around the yard as required
  • Reversing tautliners into docks
  • Opening and closing tautliner curtains
  • Comply with all Health & Safety regulations and applicable laws

Requirements

  • Current HC license; valid and good standing
  • Current white card
  • No prior or existing injuries which preclude you from the physical tasks inherent in the position ie. shoulder/back injuries
  • Willing to undergo a medical as well as drug and alcohol testing

Shift Schedule: Shifts start at 5 pm and range from 8hrs to 12 hrs

Skills and experience

  • Strong Customer service orientation
  • Excellent organizational capabilities and the ability to complete multiple tasks
  • Work and contribute to a team environment
  • Previous proven experience driving trucks – prior experience driving shunt trucks in favourable
  • Possess exceptional work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
  • Clear, concise and fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written
